BRIEFINGS

THE STUFF WE LOVE OR ARE CURRENTLY INSPIRED BY:

Source: Tyrer Sorrel (unless stated)

"Plato got it right: "At the touch of love, everyone becomes a poet". Or a cynic. At Saatchi & Saatchi our pursuit of love and what it could mean for business has been focussed and intense. People love people. We love experiences, we love teams, we love events and we love art. We love stuff - the objects we make or buy or exchange. The objects that define who we are and where we stand".

Kevin Roberts, Saatchi & Saatchi in his book - "Lovemarks - the future beyond brands"

SOURCE WEBSITES OR BOOKS

We have published a list of the source materials used by Tyrer Sorrel at:

In addition the Taschen book "Web Design Studios" contains the following beliefs that we share and use to guide our work:

Dentsu

"Interactivity is fun, as is the joy of creating! Viewers may be able to sit passively watching a TV commercial but with most websites that's just not possible. Everyday we strive to create new ideas so as not to have people say "How do you expect me to click on something when there is nothing creative there"

RGA

"To reach today's consumers in the online space, it takes more than stunning visuals to capture their attention. We believe one of the secrets to our success is creating sites that tell stories and engage users"

TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGY

What we mean by "Delivery Partnerships" and "One Click, OPEN and GO!" Event Technology

IBM and the US Open

Source: http://www-306.ibm.com/e-business/ondemand/us/overview/medley/medley_flat.shtml#usopen (Page No Longer Available)

For two weeks each year, millions of tennis fans focus on the US Open. And to meet the peak demands for information, the United States Tennis Association needed to optimize its IT environment, so it had the flexibility to increase and decrease capacity as needed. The solution: IBM designed, developed and hosts the US Open's Web site, using Virtualization and Autonomic Computing delivered via IBM Hosting infrastructure.

"By going with the IBM on demand solution, we were able to get the capacity we needed without a huge infrastructure investment." - Jeffrey Volk, Director of Advanced Media, USTA

By serving USOpen.org Web site traffic from a “virtualized” environment, the US Open expanded capacity, kept costs in check and increased traffic. This was done while lowering administrative costs, increasing flexibility, and driving higher utilization.
